Child care in Mt. Vernon area of Alexandria?

Hello,

Does anyone have any recommendations for a center or in-home daycare near Mt. Vernon, Alex?  For centers, I know of: Brentwood Academy, Capitol Kids, Hopkins House (FFX county one, not Old Town). I have visited 2 of those 3, but neither really stand out. For in-home, I am looking for recommendations.

I have a 1-year-old and a 2-year-old. 

I posted on some local boards, but no bites.  So, I thought I would try here.

    what are areas that would work for you? We have a great in-home but she is closer to Franconia/Kingstown area.

    Anything between Mt. Vernon and the Huntington metro would be best.  Ideally, no more than a couple miles from Rte. 1 between Mt. Vernon and the Metro.

    the OldTownMoms listserv often has good suggestion for in-home daycares in your area. It is through yahoo.

    Also, check with Infant Toddler (infanttoddlerDOTcom). It is a service that helps with placement into in-home daycares.
