TTC after 35

Triggering tonight

I am still dragging my way through all this. I totally lost it on DH last night - talking and thinking about adoption. I just cannot keep my mind in this cycle because I'm so afraid to have hope and then get crushed again.

And yet, there are 9 follies this morning, 5>18, 2 in the 15s and 2 in the 13s. My RE decided to change the original protocol. Instead of triggering with HCG and Lupron, I'm going to still do 450 of Follistim tonight with an HCG only trigger. He's trying to get as many mature eggs as possible, which I appreciate.

So, retrieval Fri., and transfer on Mon. - our anniversary. I know somewhere in me that's inspiring hope, but my brain keeps saying, "great, now all our anniversaries will remind me of this whole experience...." Please somebody, kick me in the pants and make me lighten up!

Re: Triggering tonight

  • I think the 2 in the 15's will definitely be ready by the retrieval. Wishing you tons of luck. I know what you mean about losing it on DH. I keep talking about looking into DE and he doesn't want to hear now since I don't "know" yet that our IVF will fail.  Whatever, right?

As for the date coincidence, I do that every cycle- find meaning in it and thinking it must be good luck but it is just a coincidence.

    GL sweetie!
