Has anyone had this exam? I have one tomorrow and just want some feedback from anyone who has had this done. TIA!

    What?  I don't understand what it is?  You go in after you have sex and they check you out?  I have never heard of this. Am I the only one that is out of the loop?

    Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe it is to see if the sperm are interacting with the CM normally.

    This test is a piece of cake.  I've had...many.  They are checking to see if the sperm are interacting well with your mucus.

    Basically, you have sex the night before the exam.  Then you go into your doc's office the next day and they take a mucus sample from your cervix.  They do this by inserting a speculum and drawing a little sample out with a...(oh dammit, I don't know the name--its like a very tiny turkey baster-thingy).  It literally takes 1min to do.

    It doesn't hurt at all--for me, its less uncomfortable than the PAP at your yearly exam.  The best part is, they let you see the sample under a microscope, and you can see all the sperm swimming around Geeked

     Interesting.  When do they do this?  Do you have to be trying for a certain amount of time?

    I had 3 of these this cycle and my experience was almost exactly the same as MissMusic described, though I didn't get to look under the microscope and sex had to be within 10 hours so based on my appt time we had to do it in the am.
    I was given the test to see if the Clomid was negatively affecting the quality of my CM. I'm glad we did the test because the results showed that we would need an IUI because the sperm wasn't moving well at all.
    DX: Anovulation
    TX: IUI #1-4 = BFN + 1 c/p
    IUI #5: Clomid 100mg + Bravelle + Trigger + B2B IUIs + 800mg Progesterone = BFP!
    Beta #1 (14dpiui): 460 Beta #2 (16dpiui): 998 Beta #3 (23dpiui): 21,832 Beta #4 (29dpiui): 129,771
