What happens to your temps before AF?

I had some spotting yesterday and a temp dip so I expected to get my heavy AF this morning like usual but instead I have nothing, not even spotting, and my temp is back up.

Just wondering what happens to everyone's temp right before AF/during AF? I thought that they dipped under the cover line and stayed down there but I could be wrong.

I'm sure AF will rear her ugly head at some inconvenient time today rather than this morning. Moving on to cycle #2 (which is harder than I thought it would be, emotionally).

My trend is that they dip below the coverline a bit and I get AF that day, but I have had cycles where they don't dip at all and AF comes anyway, or when it dips below the line but AF doesn't come for a few days.

You can have dips in temps during the luteal phase, due to surges of estrogen.

ETA: Looked at your chart, and at your DPO, the estrogen surge dip is very common.

Mine have dipped below the coverline then the following day go above - and that's the day I start.

Do you think FF is right on my O date? I know that FF is pretty accurate but all of my fertility signs point to no on that day and i missed a lot of temps this month. I was so mad when I saw that it said i O'd that day because DH was out of town for the 4 days before that. I guess it doesn't really matter for this cycle anymore, I just have to be better about temping next cycle.

Your missing temps make me wonder if ovulation was much earlier than FF is showing you. I think that there is a possibility that you ovulated much earlier than FF is saying.

FF is saying that you are only about 6 DPO which would be a really short LP cycle, so either FF is wrong and you O'd a few days prior or AF is not coming quite yet.

It's hard to know with the missing temps, but I tend to think you O'd somewhere between CD 18 and 22. I don't agree with FF.

To your original question, I have a major temp crash the day AF arrives.
