Parenting after 35

Huggies Slip Ons

I just wanted to share my review of the Huggies Slip Ons (basically a cross between Little Movers and Pull-Ups).

They rock!

I mean I wouldn't spend the extra money on them if regular diapers work for you, but I found these to be really good diapers for when I need to change A in public (or at friend's house). He doesn't need to be lying down and he actually likes "helping" me pull them up.

And he wore one for about 3 hours (lots of pee) with no leaking.

So I give a thumbs up and will be stocking my diaper bag with these.

PS.

There's velcro on the sides to open the diapers (you don't have to tear them, like swim diapers). But the sides are stretchy, so you don't need to adjust.

Re: Huggies Slip Ons

  • Good to hear about the velcro.  I just had this image of pullilng down poopy diapers and dragging poop all the way down the back of M's legs.

  • I was totally opposed to them before I knew they also had velcro. I will try!

  • Good to know! I haven't been happy with the Huggies fit at all on S, but I do like the idea of a cross between diapers and pull-ups.
  • Can he pull them off easily?  C's in a naked phase right now.  I'm about ready for the duct tape.

  • Awesome! I've been starting to think about pull-ups for M. We mostly CD now, but I don't want to shell out a ton of cash again when I'm optimistic that once we start PT we can move straight into underoos or whatever.
  • Oh, awesome review, thanks! Adrian will not lie down for diaper changes when we're outside (and sometimes at home) so I've developed a difficult skill to change him standing up. I thought about the slip-ons but thought they had to be torn open like Swimmers, and if there was poop... well, it would not be pretty. So I'm glad to know that there's a velcro tab option. Now I'm definitely in! I won't use them all the time 'cause they're more expensive but I want to have some on hand for when we go outside or when A fights me at the changing table (which is more and more often these days).

Yes, exactly! See my post above, lol. I think Huggies is not doing a very good job marketing those diapers. Obviously, a lot of people don't know they have velcro.

Yeah. These could be pulled off easily.

I'm lucky that Aaron has never tried.

  • I'm not saying these are better than regular diapers, but it's a good option for when you really just need to "catch and release" like their ad says.

A negative: as far as I can tell they only go up to size 5.
