Holy Mittelschmerz, Batman!
My history:
- 1st month off of Mirena, 1st month charting ever (no kids, never tried)
- Always seem to get "ovulation pain" - even on BC
Does anybody else get the ovulation pain that feels like somebody is stabbing you with a hot poker in your ovary while at the same time pulling a muscle there? Yeah, I do!
According to FF, I'm on cycle day 14. Still not sure EXACTLY when I am ovulating (no crosshairs yet...). I know my OPK was + on days 12 and 13, but this morning (14) I got a -. And today I felt the stabbing pain on my right side.
I've read conflicting information about these pains - is it indicating ovulation is happening at that moment, has already happened, or is about to happen? I'm just confusing myself with all this information. Doesn't help that I'm not really good at deciphering my CM now...

How the heck to I link my chart? Sorry, total newb here. The URL doesn't look right: https://www.fertilityfriend.com/ttc/ Seems too generic to be "my" chart.
I'm mostly trying to figure out when I have/will ovulate. I was hoping since I couldn't decipher my chart yet, the pain would indicate something.
It's very distinctive, and I only get it 1 day a month on average.

Like I said, don't take CM into account because I am still getting used to myself in that regard.
As far as the pain goes, does it seem weird that I find it oddly comforting? Especially now that we're TTC.
if you got a + that means you will be ovulating soon. it sounds like you and i have the same thing:
I get a +, then a day or two later i get that ovulation pain - it hurts so bad that it hurts to have sex, which seems counter intuitive to evolution...- anyway so I assume that you are ovulating.
+ sign means ovulation will happen in 12 - 36 hours. I think that when it starts to fade from a positive, you should have sex with your husband/boyfriend/whoever. To be safe, I just have sex before, during and after the positive OPK and through the pain.
Me too! I know its wierd and it does not really mean anything but yeah...

Me too. I notice it more on the right side but I feel it on both. Kinda cool to feel it though and think "hey I'm ovulating!"

Turns out the open circles are because I took my temp at inconsistent times. I do it first thing when I wake up, but the problem is I wake up at different times everyday - sometimes I have to be up at 4:30 am, sometimes I get to sleep in longer. I guess if this is going to skew my results I have to wake up at 4:30 am every day no matter what... (I get up that early for a yoga class a few days a week, plus my work schedule changes a lot).
Yikes, that sounds horrible. You said you have them all the time, but mine only come 1 day a month, and even then it's usually just 1 instance of pain for less than 30 seconds. It is something I will keep in mind if I run into problems conceiving, but right now I have no real reason to think anything abnormal is going on (pain is not debilitating and it's fleeting). Scary to think it could be something worse!
