Hello, I am new to this board but am finding it to be VERY helpful and therapeutic.
I have a strange question, but first some background info:
I had an emergency c-section at 40 weeks after 7 days of labor due to arrested dilatation. I also have Factor V Leiden.
My son is now 15 months old and my husband and I are TTC #2.
Now I don't know if this is because my body didn't get a chance to experience the birthing process but since the day my son was born I've had these phantom movements that are disconcerting and feel like slight fetal movements. The doctor said to expect that for awhile. My lower tummy still doesn't have much feeling since I suffered nerve damage down to my left foot.
I've recently felt more of these phantom movements, almost a "rolling" feeling.
Are there any other ladies out there that have experienced these sensations?
When you have had a subsequent pregnancy after a cesarean have you been able to feel the fetal movements as well as the first time around? Is it more uncomfortable at all not just due to any stretching by the incision, but due to general discomfort or pain leftover from the surgery?
I'm just really frustrated TTC this time around. Last time I could listen to my body's cues and tell where little cramps were coming from, if I was bloated more than usual, etc. Now with all the post cesarean issues it's turning TTC into a mini-nightmare. As if it wasn't difficult enough already.
Sorry about the novel & thank you in advance for any helpful responses. ![]()
I hope to be on this board often for support since any subsequent pregnancy for me will be another cesarean. ![]()
I'm glad to answer any questions for those going into a c-section or recovering.
Re: Question for those who've had a pregnancy after a c-section . . .
I felt the phantom movements about a year after my son was born- from what I've read, they're common in all women, not just women who have had a c-section.
With my son, I first felt him move at 14 weeks and felt him regularly after that. He was a mover. This time around I have felt nothing. Don't know if that's due to c-section or if I just have a more relaxed baby or what.
I haven't noticed any unusual discomfort or anything due to my c-section with this pregnancy. No incision pain, no nothing.
Thank you everyone for the responses!
I am so grateful to have found this board!
Looks like I will be finding out just what #2 after a c-section is like; I got a BFP last night!
I've miscarried before - over 2 years ago, about 6 months before I got KU with my DS, so I am very cautious, but VERY excited. So far I feel better than I did with my DS. Enjoying every day, even the morning sickness because I know that after the c-section I will be looking fondly back at how easy these days were.
Yucky c-sections. meh.
So I hope to visit this board and cat with you ladies when I get panic-stricken-ohmygod-moments in realizing I am going to have another c-section this Spring. - . . . and here comes the panic, already setting in . . .
