For a Girl...we like Lydia Mae (last name) Spence.
Reasons: Lydia is my Great, Great Grandmother's name. It also means dark haired maiden which I love since our daughter will most likely have dark hair. It is also a saint's name which is part of the criteria. Mae is my Grandmother's middle name. Most criticism I've gotten for this name is that it is too old fashioned, but I'm a pretty old fashioned girl so that works for me:)
For a Boy...we like Tristan Andrew (again)Spence.
Reasons: I have always loved the name Tristan!...and my husband really loves it too! I also love the Opera "Tristan and Isolde" in spite of it's tragic end! Andrew is my husband's name and also is a saint's name. Some of the criticism for Tristan has been that it's too trendy...but I've never met a Tristan. Also, that it slightly feminine.
Thoughts?
Re: Our Names...opinions needed:)
I like Lydia a lot.
Tristan is a great name, and I know it's traditionally male. But it DOES sound too feminine for my taste.
Both names are definitely not my style, but there is nothing wrong with them.
I do agree Tristan is slightly feminine.

Lydia Mae is lovely.
Tristan is NMS, but it is totally inoffensive. It's almost exactly as trendy and popular as Lydia (#84 nationally vs. #111 with similar recent trend lines). I don't think it's feminine at all ? it's NMS because I think it's actually a bit too rugged/country for my taste. Andrew is fine.
In short: you're good to go.

Love both of your name choices..
Lydia is unique and not used often, very pretty..
and Tristian is one my favorite boy names..
I love Lydia Mae!
Tristan is NMS. It does sound slightly feminine to me but I am drawn to boy names that are very obviously boy names. I don't like unisex.
love is for every her, love is for every him, love is for everyone
My friend's 5 year old daughter is Lydia, I love it! It's different but not trendy or you-n'eek.
I don't like Tristan.
I love Lydia Mae... Mae is such a great middle name!
I don't think Tristan is too feminine. I do feel like its trendy, however I have never met one either. If you like it, go for it!
Lydia Mae is NMS...but it IS pretty.
I know quite a few boy Tristans (between the ages of 14 and 2)...so it's not something I would ever use. I also think it is a bit feminine...but still nice.

I think Lydia Mae is beautiful, and love that you are using family names. It's not real common but not trendy or off the wall either.
Tristan has always been one of my favorite boy names and Tristan Andrew is a good strong boy name. I've heard a few girls named it but spelled differently (Tristen and Tristyn) making it more feminine that way. There was nothing feminine about Tristan in Legends of the Fall!
I think both your choices are great ones.
I like Lydia. Not a fan of Mae...a little too country bumpkin for me.
Love Tristan Andrew.
