a little worried about vbac

I am new here and I am a little scared about my vbac .my dr said because  my doctor forced a c section on me 5 years ago for no reason I'm a good canidate for it. But I my concern is how will I know I'm in labor if I never felt it before and how will I know what contractions feels like my DH said we will know but just need more advice

    I wondered that to, but I definately knew.  Mine came out of no where and were huge.  The big clue for me was the timing of 5 minutes apart for an hour.

    I would relate it to getting your period.....but like 50 times worse.

    Right before I get AF, I run to the bathroom like 10 times thinking I've "gotten it."  But then when it actually comes, it's like "ok, this is the real thing" and there's no freaking question.  I think labor is like that, but a bajillion times more obvious.
