What "wierd things" does your DH do?

My DH recently asked me if I would get a pair of shorts and a t-shirt ready for him before he gets home from work every night.  He wears a suit to work and wants to change into something comfortable when he gets home (which I totally understand!) I just think it's funny that he asked me to get it for him, instead of, ya know, just opening up the drawer and getting it himself.  He specifically asked me to set it on the edge of the bed for him.  Makes me laugh!

Anyway, does your DH have any wierd request like this?

  • I find that really bizarre.  If I unplug the nightlight in the bathroom to use my blow-dryer, he gets miffed if I don't remember to plug it back in.

I guess I can't blame him what with his whole breaks-a-bone-all-the-time disease being an "issue" for middle of the night trips to the bathroom.

I've really been trying hard to remember.  It shouldn't be this difficult.

  • Haha- yes!!

He leaves his pens all over the house and asks me to put one by his work stuff in the morning. Even if there are pens everywhere, he asks me to put one next to his wallet & keys, as if he is unable to see the pens he left on every possible surface.

  • I think that is hilarious.  I'm trying to think of something DH does...
  • My DH will read the mail and then leave it on the kitchen counter which drives me nuts! But he hates to have any papers on the coffee table because, you know, the kitchen counter is a better place for mail than the coffee table.
  • 2 things:

He says "Nothing Doing".  I know this is somewhat common but I really dislike this saying.  It doesn't sound intelligent.

The other is that when we get ready for bed he literally goes up and down the stairs like 3 times for different things.  Everyday!  What could he possibly have forgotten to warrant THREE trips?!

  • That is so hilarious! Haha!

The only thing I can think of is that DH has "favorite cups" to drink from. Both of them are free plastic one - one from a baseball game and one from a bar in college. He insists on using them even it their are 30 other clean cups. I'm pretty sure he's convinced water tastes better in them :)

  • This is a great post...DH's weird thing in paper towels. We go thru them so fast and I find them everywhere! He always has a few in his hands and then leaves them around the hose. I could never lsoe him....just follow the trail of paper towels. :)

    This, this, this!

I have started threatening to put all mail left on the kitchen counter in the shredder :)

  • His socks have to match fit-wise (which I totally understand - who wants to wear one ankle and one knee sock together?) but he refuses to pin or roll pairs together, so he spends five minutes every morning digging through his drawer perfectly matching up socks. If one half of a pair he's wearing gets a hole, he throws out both socks, even if the other is in perfect condition.

However, if I buy him multiple pairs of "fun" socks that are the same size/brand, he'll mix and match them. He'll intentionally wear stripes and dots together, but a white Hanes crew sock can not be worn with a Fruit of the Loom crew sock. :/

  • Dear Lord...where do I start?

    1) My husband can't seem to make a decision without me which most of the time is fine since I'm such a control freak but lately it's been annoying.  We went shopping the other day and he asked which shirt he should like.

    2) Most women complain that their husband leaves the toilet seat up...I get annoyed because my husband not only puts the seat but the lid down as well!  In the middle of the night when I'm half asleep I keep sitting on the lid and have to jump up really quick.

    3) Leaving dirty diapers on the changing table when the diaper bucket is 1 foot away.  He says he forgets it's there when he's finished putting on the clean diaper.

    4) He will NEVER order food over the phone.  When we want to call in an order for pizza or the local mexican food restaurant he absolutely refuses to be the one to call.  He'll get the number ready for me and hand me the phone.  Last time this happened I was driving and he was sitting in the back seat with LO.  I tried to refuse and make him call to be more safe.  He says he just doesn't want to mess up the order. weird

I could go on but I guess I'll be done there!  He really is a wonderful amazing man that I couldn't live without.

  • My DH likes to eat things lik cereal from plastic bowls.  If they are all in the dishwasher, he will literally take a small tupperwear container and eat from that rather than grab one of the regular bowls from the cupboard.

Every single night he eats a granola bar and chocolate milk.  He also takes pb&j for his lunch 90% of the time.  It's like having a third kid.

He also does tons of things like leaving clothes lying around, shoes in front of the door, locking his keys in his car etc. on a regular basis but that's a whole different post!

Your DS' hair is AMAZING.  I tried growing my DS' hair long but it kept getting into his eyes so we have had to cut it a couple times.  I was too afraid to cut the bangs short and leave the rest long because I thought it would look like a mullet but it doesn't at all on your DS!  I wish I did that now!

Me too!  I can't think of anything "weird" that DH asks me to do.  The only weird thing I can think of is how he folds his socks.  He (read: I) just puts two socks together and then folds them in half.  He can't fold one inside of the other because it "stretches them out and they fall down because he doesn't have big calves". lol!

I cant stand my socks to be folded one inside the other. It  DOES stretch it out! lol

DH has to have a glass of chocolate milk everynight before bed. When he gets home from work, he stis down at the computer and strips down to his boxers, leaving the clothes in the floor under the desk. He also can not stand for his butt, ears, or nipples to be touched. lol
