Of course, anyone else feel free to give their input, but I'm specifically looking for firstmoms to chime in here. ![]()
Our daughter's first birthday is coming up soon. Over the past year, I've thought of several ideas of what to give her firstmom... I want to give her something special to let her know that we appreciate and are thankful that she gave birth to our daughter last year and that we love her. We have an open relationship, but don't live terribly close to each other, so we've only seen each other once since placement. We do email on a semi-regular basis, and have talked on the phone once.
So, ideas I've had but don't know which is best (or you can say none of the above if they all suck, LOL!)
A Shutterfly book (however, she has access to a private blog page that is updated constantly, and we also send a ton of pics with each update)
A collection of home videos from the past year
Something with DD's birthstone
One of those "first year" calendars completed with all the milestones of DD's first year
A Christmas ornament with DD's picture (sent her one last year as well)
Or... something else??
Input, please!! ![]()
Re: Firstmoms... a ? for you
I would do the video compilation. Since she's only seen her daughter 1 time since birth, a video would really put her personality into view for her. Pictures are wonderful, but they leave so much to the imagination (noises, faces, giggles etc).
But I may be biased cuz I'm a professional video documenter
I just love videos! But the photo book is a good idea too!
