OB and Hospital Referral (Greenwich or another?)

Hello!

I am new to TTC and high risk (autoimmune disesase and chronic hypertension 29 yo). I am moving from Westchester to Rockland County. I met with perinatologist Dr. Annette Bond at Greenwich hospital and really liked her, but still need an OB practice and have not heard great things about the two practices that deliver at Greenwich. Where did you deliver, who was your OB and how were your experiences?

Although I would like to deliver as naturally as possible, I know I will probably need to be in a hospital, so any other words of wisdom about that (midwifes, doulas, intervention rates, water birth in hospital is also appreciated!)

Thank so much for your advice!

Rebecca

  • My OBs are Dr. Aronow and Dr. Mahon, they have offices in Stamford and Norwalk. They are fantastic. They deliver at Norwalk Hospital...went on a tour today and loved it! (and have heard great things about it from moms who have delivered there.)  But, I don't know how my OBs or NH are with high risk issues like yours.

  • Not sure which two practices you heard about, but there's more than that for the Greenwich Hospital.  That's where I'm delivering.....when I don't know! Soon though! Anyway, I do go through Putnam OB/GYN on the Post Road.....and I love Dr. Molinelli and Dr. Hung.....sometimes the other doctors can be rushy but I tell them I have questions and then they all take their time to answer me....I think you have to be proactive.

Anyway, hope that helps, good luck :)

  • Hi Rebecca,

I delivered both of my children at Greenwich Hospital. Dr. Bond oversaw both of my pregnancies. She is incredible! My Ob was Dr. Schecter at Putnam Gynecology. He was great and very conservative. Dr. Bond and Dr. Schecter always touched base about my situation so I knew I was in good hands.

Greenwich does not have water birth capabilities. The staff at Greenwich was incredible! I have to say that they got better since I had my first child. I felt that the second time around, which was only 7 months ago, was much better.

If you need help locating a midwife, doula etc. feel free to reach out. I am actually a Baby Planner that works with expecting and new families, especially families that have relocated.

Good luck and congratulations on expecting!
