2nd Trimester

Nervous but impatient! Opinions, please

Just had my 16/17wk appt this past Thursday. Lemon is doing just fine. HB was strong and loud and Doc found it immediately! DH got super bummed that we didn't get an ultrasound on Thursday (even though I told him my doc waits til 20wks), but his spirits lifted when she told us to schedule our first u/s which will happily be our a/s as well! Soooooooo excited!!!!!!!! I'm anxious and nervous about the u/s because I wanna know FOR SURE (as sure as we can be) that everything's okay in there, but I'm also really impatient to see my baby, learn the gender, etc. We've picked out a few names and I'd love your opinions :)

Boy: Aston Lorcan

Girl: Felicity

Still haven't decided on a middle name for a girl yet, but I don't wanna get ahead of myself. We've had our boy name picked out since last summer :-p so that one's not going anywhere lol

Re: Nervous but impatient! Opinions, please

  • yay, first u/s and finding out the sex are so exciting!!

your name choices are nms.  what is the significance of aston?  i think i could get behind ashton more.  aston seems like its missing a letter, or makes me think of the actor sean aston.

felicity sounds like a character off of a movie/book/tv show, or stripper and not a real person.  not being rude, just honest opinion.  have you tried the baby names board?

bottom line:  if you like it, then use it.  who cares what a bunch of strangers think?  GL!

  • It is exciting! Seeing the baby up on the screen moving around and reacting to things is amazing.  How about Felicity Mae? Just a suggestion.

I want to applaud Texas77again for her comment, too. It is your baby and your choice to make. So, don't take what we say too seriously. :)

  • Yay u/s appts are the best. I like the name Felicity. My friend named her baby that and it fits her perfect. I have never heard of the boy name before.

  • DH and I are both Irish, and we chose Aston because of its meaning (noble stone) The middle name, Lorcan, is also Irish and it means 'fierce'. The way I see it, his name would mean that he is calm and grounded, yet fiercely determined, driven and loving. As far as Felicity goes, I'm not yet sure of the meaning- it just sounds so pretty to me Stick out tongue
