    LBR: Virginia Woolf: A Biography Last week I finished Woolf's biography.  I'm happy that the life about such an important voice in literature was my "goal" book.  However, I was incredibly disappointed on how it ended.  The author spent chapters- a lot of time- setting up Virginia's family history and the book literally ends the second she commits suicide.  So, for all the other people I read about in her life I didn't get to find out how her suicide affected them...how they moved on...what their theories were, etc.  Now I'm reading Nurtureshock by Po Bronson & Ashley Merryman.  It's good and an incredibly quick read.  I am finding a significant lack of follow through, though.  The authors point to a lot of ways we don't parent well or where we need to change our perspectives.  But there isn't a lot of "so here is how you do it instead" you know?  So that is disappointing.

    I read two books this week. I finished The Good Soldier and also read David Sedaris's Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim.

    I finished A Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick.  Didn't love it, didn't hate it.  This was 48/60 for the year.

    I'm currently reading Demonglass by Rachel Hawkins.  It's the the follow up book to Hex Hall and I like it so far.

    I finished Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.  I was a tad disappointed in the wrap up of the mystery. 

    However I was still intrigued enough by the characters that when I saw The Girl Who Played With Fire at the library, I grabbed it

    Sadly, that means Mockingjay, which I was going to start next, is on hold.  I own that one so I want to read the library book first!

    Thanks so much for doing this every week.  This is a great reference for when I am looking for something to read next

    Man, I got so far behind this summer.

    I am reading Misconceptions by Naomi Wolf.  It is really, really good.  I would recommend it to anyone who is pregnant, wants to have another baby in the future, or wants to reconcile bad feelings about a previous birth experience.

    Next read is Homer & Langley by E.L. Doctorow.

    I'm now CR Nonviolent Communication and Empire Falls (Russo).  He's one of my favorite writers, so I'm enjoying it, though it's long (almost 500 pages!).  He just so wonderfully captures small town life--very funny.

    I finished Angel Falls by Kristin Hannah (I find I either love her books or they fall flat- this one fell flat).  I also started the Mortal Instruments series and read City of Bones- I thought it was good and I'm looking forward to continuing the series.  Now I'm reading Mercy Street by Mariah Stewart- a quick murder mystery thats is pretty good so far.

    I have completed 3 books this week.  I started the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and read books 1, 2, and 3.... 

    In other news.... just take 19 minutes down, I'm not currently reading anything and I don't think I'm going to pick that back up again.  Thanks.
