Gender Reveal Party

Is anyone planning on having a gender reveal party? We find out the gender on Thursday and we are going to have both of our families meet us at our favorite restaurant for dinner. I am baking a cake with either a blue or pink inside and we will have our mothers cut the cake for dessert that way both families will find out the gender at the same time. I know it sounds a little corny but I thought it would be fun to have both families together for the big news and everyone would find out at the same time Big Smile

    Humph....I WANTED to but DH blabbed on Facebook what we were having before I could plan anything. Sad  He was SO excited to be having a son I guess I can't blame him but I really wanted to do a gender reveal party.

     I think it's a cute idea  and I'm super jealous - have fun!!!

    We are doing the cake thing but a bakery is making the cake since even we won't know what sex the baby is until we cut the cake.  Our party is on Saturday.  I honestly cannot wait.

    We plan on doing something similar.  We have our u/s on Thursday, too.  I want to be surprised until we cut into the cake instead of the technician telling us.  We're going to have them write it down and put it in an envelope.  Then we're going to take it to the bakery and they are going to color the inside either pink or blue.  Then we are having our families get together on Friday night.  I can't wait!

    we are having a gender reveal party on October 19th (I do not find out until then) Can't wait.:) My husband does not want to be surprised with the family so we will know at the ultrasound as long as baby cooperates :)

    We don't have our U/S until October 26th.  We are planning a Halloween-themed party for our close friends and family on the 30th.  A local bakery will be making our cake and we won't know until we cut into it -- in front of everyone else.

    This exactly! We are doing the exact same thing except we don't find out until next month :-( I'm so excited i really cant wait!!

    That is really fun!  I am thinking of doing this for my shower.  I talked with a lot of moms and many of them said they wished they didn't share the sex until the shower.  That way you get less clothes, because the gender neutral ones are generally less cute.
