Since we are having twins people seem to think that it is totally fine to ask if they are "natural" or some just come out and ask if I did IVF. I'm not ashamed of the fact that I did IVF and close family and friends know that's how the babies were conceived. At the same time however, I don't feel the need to discuss how my children were conceived with aquaintences or complete strangers. Even if they were spontaneous and not due to IVF, I would still think it's a rude question. I also dispise the "natural" comment, as if my children are unnatural in some way.
My question is, how should I respond to people who say this? I would love to come up with some clever snarky response but usually I'm too annoyed to think of one and end up just saying they are natural and changing the subject because really, IVF or not, they are still natural and not some synthetic baby. Any ideas?

"No, we mail ordered them from China, you know, the new synthetic babies who don't cry or poop? Want the info?"
I like the breast comment. Classic! I would totally use that, or face lift etc. Hahahaha.
haha, this! Referring to loads and loads of sex will surely make anyone think twice about making a comment like this again!

After 2 1/2 years TTC, 3 IUI's, endo, and a lap, a surprise BFP brought us Alexandra Marie!
If someone asked "how were they conceived?" My first instinct would be to ask "how were you conceived?"
Usually answering with anything sex related will shut people up real fast. Like what PP said about doing it like rabbits.
"I don't believe that's any of your business. Whether I screwed like a rabbit and got blessed with twins or did IVF and got blessed with twins, my children are a blessing"

If you weren't in the room when they were conceived then you don't really need to know.
Other than that, this blog has some good one:
https://pregnantchicken.squarespace.com/pregnant-chicken-blog/2011/1/16/clever-pregnancy-comebacks-multiples-edition.html
"Do you want to watch the video of the conception and find out for yourself?"
This also reminds me of my cousin, who has identical twin girls. When people ask if they're twins, he always says, "Can you believe they're cousins???" and walks away.
This was my EXACT initial thought!
I like this. Simple, but enough to shut people up. :-)
M/C January 2008
DS February 16th, 2009
TTC #2 July 2010
Diagnosed MFI
IUI#1 w/ bravelle 5/12/11 -- 0% morph on day of IUI, but somehow BFP:
Beta #1 38 at 12dpiui, Beta #2 85 at 14dpiui Beta #3 1100 at 19dpiui
DD born December 28, 2011 at 34w6d
Depending on the situation, I would either go with:
"Why do you ask?" and kind of leave it at that
OR
"Well, they're certainly not synthetic babies..."
I would never have the gall to give a dirty response, although I find that hilarious!
This link is awesome!
