Sick During PG?

Hi ladies - I have been super MIA lately bc work has been ridiculously insanely busy. I've been checking posts when I can but have had no time to reply - I'm sorry! I started getting a cold a couple days ago, then got full blown sick yesterday. I'd gotten a flu shot Thurs but I'm really thinking it's not related... It's all in my sinuses and I'm taking it easy and using the netti pot, but per my Dr all I can take is Benadryl. I'm wondering if I should ask for antibiotics bc I think I have a sinus infection. Has anyone else gotten sick during PG? What did you take? I just want to do everything I can to protect the LO!

TTC in 2008. Stage II/III endo, Hashimotos hypothyroid, low morph (3%).
2 cycles Clomid/Ovidrel/TI/Crinone=BFN.
IUI #1 - 4 Follistim/Ovidrel/IUI/Crinone = BFN.
IVF #1 - Antagonist w/ ICSI 4/10. 17 retrieved, 5DT of 2, BFN :(
IVF #2 - Long Lupron w/ ICSI 6/10. 15 retrieved, 3DT of 2, BFFN!!
Lap 7/21/10
IVF #3 - Clomid/Antagonist w/ ICSI 10/10. 14 retreived, 3DT of 3, BFP 10/20 but m/c. No HB 11/15/10 - D&C 11/17/10.
FET - 2 blasts, 1 survived the thaw. Transfer 2/19. Beta #1 3/1 375, Beta #2 3/3 885, Beta #3 3/8 4261, Beta #4 3/11 9005. U/S 3/8 1 sac 1 yolk, U/S 3/16 1 heartbeat 114bpm!

 

James born Oct. 24th 2011 via c-section at 38 weeks!

    I am getting over a sinus infection from over a week ago :(  I didn't ask for anything and tried to tough it out... and that's been rough. Good Luck hun I'm thinking of you and hope you feel better ASAP!

    I have no advice -- just wanted to say feel better SOON!

    I'm sorry, I hope you feel better soon!  I got sick with a sinus infection/congestion/headache thing, but since I was still in first tri I just toughed it out and stayed home to rest.  I used a humidifier, approved cough drops, and ate soup/drank tea.

    If you think it is an actual infection, then I would ask if there are any safe antibiotics to take.  This is totally gross, but is your snot greenish? That is usually sign of an infection.

    My allergies have been terrible over the last week. I have been using the saline solution in a can that acts like a nettie pot, a humidifer at night (yep, testing out the baby's before he or she gets here), and a little vicks vaporub on the end of my nose. Letting a hot shower beat on my head sometimes helps, too.

    After 2 years of TTC, our daughter was born on Oct 31, 2011!

    I have been terribly sick the last few days.  Robitussin DM helped me a lot too. Anytime I coughed or sneezed I was puking.  I'm gonna have to try the nettie pot.
