at our child birth class the nurse who taught told the class they could expect to loose around 12lbs once the baby is born. I'm assuming this doesn't hold true for twin moms, I'm curious what you all lost after giving birth? I know it depends on how large babies are and all but just curious bc I feel like with twins it would be at least 20lbs? I've already gained close to 50

I know it will be hard work trying to get back down in size over time but I'm looking forward to shedding a decent amount once the babies are born so I'm a little more comfortable than I am now. TIA

Re: what did you loose after birth?
I was down 25 immediately, and another 5 a few days later. Then another 5 about 2 weeks later. The last 5 took me awhile, but I have totally been on team fatass and eating what I want and not exercising.
Oh, and the girls were 5 lbs 14 oz and 6 lbs 3 oz at 36w2d. I gained 40 total.
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
WOW! thats what I like to hear LOL good for you! I wish I only gained 40lbs, I still have 5wks to go
yikes!! LOs are close to if not already at 5lbs each now as of last visit to doc so hoping their a good size when born.
Cut the Crap - Weight loss journey of a Few Fat Chicks
I came home between 30 and 40 lbs lighter. I'd gained between 50 and 60 lbs. Babies were born at 37w 1d, and were 4.15 and 6.5. I had a fair amount of swelling at the end, so some of the weight was fluid.
By the time the babies were 3 months old, I was 8 lbs from my pre-PG weight. By the time they were 6-7 months old, I was wearing all of my old clothes, including some stuff that was tight pre-PG. I worked out half-heartedly and was just careful about what I ate.
lose not loose
I gained 38 total, when I left the hospital I was down 25
I gained 54 lbs with my twin pregnancy. When I left the hospital I was only down 17 lbs BUT I'd had tons of fluid pumped into me throughout my induction so I think that was artificially high. By the 2-week mark I'd lost 35 lbs. But then people were bringing us meals the first two months and I ate a ton of calories and didn't have time to exercise (beyond running around to take care of the babies) so I didn't lose any more until the 4-month mark when I started WW and 30-Day Shred. Since then I've done some yoyoing and am currently 7 lbs above pre-pg weight. BUT I had lost 20 lbs right before we started ttc so I had set the bar high.
(I'm actually 8 lbs below wedding weight so I can't complain too much.
)
ETA: Babies were 6lbs10oz and 6lbs7oz at 37w6d.
I lost 27 right away. Then I had lost another 10 at my 6 week PP appointment.
...And then I gained 10 back from eating everything sweet in sight and drinking starbucks lattes like they were going out of style. Now I am finally working on taking myself back down to my pre-baby, pre-IF weight that I was about 3 years ago. Ugh, it is not an easy thing.
After 2 years, Injects, PCOS diagnosis and 2 IUI's, we were blessed with our beautiful twin girls!

gained exactly 35lbs, delivered at 35 weeks and was down 20lbs when I got home from the hospital. The other 15 didn't really come off until I stopped breastfeeding affter 4mths.
For me it was counter to what everyone thinks about bf-ing helping you lose weight. I dropped 10lbs when I stopped and the last 5lb came off when I started using our jogging stroller for long walks when they were 8mths old. I did 0 dieting, in fact I eat way crappier now !!
So 8-9mths to get back to my exact pre-pg weight - which seems to be my body's natural set-point of 107lb. Pre-pg clothes all fit, BUT I am way flabbier in the belly for sure!!!
My mind. I lost my bloody mind after birth.
Oh, not what you were asking? Ooops.
I was down 50lbs of the 80lbs I gained within a week. Then I gained some back b/c of sh!tty eating habits and lack of exercise. I'm still up 30lbs and my guys will be a year next week.
I gained somewhere around 25lbs in the first trimester! it slowed down since then and seems to be picking up again as of the past week or so but Im also super swollen now so Im guessing its alot of fluid retention. I think some women just gain more or gain more early on either way, I agree, I'm feeling much better reading all the other posts. I'm hoping to at least lose half the weight quickly if not more, guess we shall see lol
