My nana is 83 years old and knows about our struggles, but doesn't really get it. She will frequently point out infants when we are out or offer to buy cute baby accessories. Though my mother has spoken to her about how painful this is, she still does it.
Yesterday my family got together for my birthday. I was struggling to keep it together. At one point she looks at my mother and I and asks if we are willing to support a charity drive her church is having. They are giving people baby bottles to fill up with money to give to teen and single mothers to help them support their baby. Normally I would just smile and say no, but I couldn't help myself. I blurted out "Well if they can't support their child, then they shouldn't of had one or should put it up for adoption." I love the woman, but seriously could have thrown something.

I don't know what it is about old people, but their filters are just off. I'm sorry you're getting the brunt of that.
Also, that baby bottle full of money to teen moms idea is horrible. I'm guessing the majority of that money doesn't go towards essential baby items.
That sounds like an all around bad "charity" and I totally understand no-filter grandmas. One of mine was like that, too. She would say the rudest things all the time to most of us. I never quite knew why, but hers were mostly food or weight related. There were a few people exempt from her critiques, and I was not one of them.
Sorry you had to deal with that.
