Closet Storage Systems

Well I think its official, I'm in full nesting mode. Does anyone have any recommendations as to good closet storage systems to help arrange everything? Would greatly appreciate your help!

Re: Closet Storage Systems

  • Our closet isn't big enough for a storage system, but Target has some awesome closet stuff.  We're gonna do one of those stacked basket sets to go inside and its super cute and cheap!

  • I'm in the same boat... our house was built in 1918 and people I guess didn't have much clothes because the closet is small. Hoping to find something to help maximize space.

  • I never did the closet stuff, but I did get those little plastic drawers, and I got letters from Michaels for each drawer that said "Diapers, bibs, socks", etc. Pretty much it was for the stuff that didnt really fit her dresser.

I also LOVED the matching baskets that come in different sizes, I had one for extra diapers, one for stuffed animals, etc.

    HTH.

  • Check out Rubbermaid closet storage systems. They having varying sizes depending on your size closet, are inexpensive, and are perfect for organizing LO's clothes. They have bars and shelves and you can then get baskets or whatever for the shelves for further organization. We got all of ours at Menards but I think you can get them at Lowes, Home Depot, etc.

  • I love the look of the Elfa from Container Store but not the price.  I've been looking at the Rubbermaid system from Home Depot or Lowe's OR the Allen and Roth wood system.

Unfortunately, we've bought nursery furniture and a new bed and mattress, so I won't be able to get a closet organizer for the baby's room. Oh well.

  • I got one of the hanging closet things from Target - didn't cost much and really helped! It was a 4 or 5 shelf one. I organized blankets, socks/shoes and hats in there. Freed up an entire dresser drawer after I did that!

  • I bought one of the Closet Maid storage systems from Home Depot. It is a combination of hanging rods, drawers and storage bins. All of the components cost about $250, and it took DH an afternoon to install it.

  • I bought this, but at the time they also had a 48 piece or something. That's the one I actually got. And I used the storage bins to keep my changing table organized because it has open shelving.

  • We have done both the Rubbermaid Configurations and Closet Maid systems. I like them both, but Rubbermaid is easier to install and very easy to move things around and reconfigure as needed.
    siggy should be here!
  • I like the elfa closet system at The Container Store as well.  It's easy to install, fully customizable, and can be as expensive and pretty or as plain jane and inexpensive as you want it to be.  Best part is - their annual sale is coming up in December. Just read that they have a baby and bridal registry now - may be a good thing to register for (or gift cards).
