This weekend hubby and I cleaned out our garage and redid the floor. Okay, he ACTUALLY did the floor, but I picked out the colors and supervised from a well ventilated area. Previously, we had an unfinished concrete floor that got really slippery during winter so we sealed it, painted it, and add the colorful sprinkles (not sure what they are really called, but they remind me of ice cream sprinkles) so now the floor looks gorgeous and I don't have to worry about falling on my bum in the middle of winter or while carrying the little one into the house. Anyone else doing some home repairs in anticipation of baby?
Re: Home repairs
We started renovating our basement back in April - so right now the basement is a complete mess, we moved everything upstairs to the future nursery so we have to finish the basement to move everything back. Grrrr... We're totally in the middle of it too so we have a long ways to go!
And that's just the beginning - we also wanted to renovate the kitchen, tile the back porch, paint the trim that needs finishing, get the roof heater thingys up on the roof so we don't have ice dams, etc...
But in the end we do really love our old house (but throw some expletives in there on bad days!).
The sellers who sold us the house told us there was hardwood under all carpet and they lied!!! It was under the living room carpet but that was it! Sneaky bastards!

We have a four year plan we started last year.
Last year we got a new AC and new gutters.
This year, we get a new roof (this month).
Next year, new windows
and fourth year, new Kitchen.
Our house is 35 years old, and while in decent shape, they put new carpet and we re-did the bathrooms when we moved in. It was the major stuff that we need to plan for.
Our house is always under construction. The last two weekends Dan cleaned out the garage and moved most of his tools in there (a lot of them had been in the spare room - which will be the nursery). We want to redo the garage floor with the colored chips a PP had mentioned but that won't be for a while. The floor is fine the way it is for now.
I would REALLY like to get a tub/shower insert (like Bathfitters only DIY) for the main bathroom. I think it will be SO much easier to clean. Our half-bath has been out of commission for a while due to a leaky roof. The roof has been fixed, but there's not toilet or sink in there anymore. It would be really really nice to get that back in order before the winter but I'm not going to bet on it.
