If you've had a PP period...

How would you compare your period now to before you were pregnant? I'm having my 3rd period since the baby and every month it is SO heavy.  It's kind of concerning me and I don't know if I should be.  I really don't remember it being like this after DS.

Is anyone experiencing really heavy periods?? Ugh.  TMI, but yesterday I went through 3/4 box of tampons (I can't even use my MoonCup, because it's so messy and just fills up like crazy.)  :(:(:(

Re: If you've had a PP period...

  • mine is the exact opposite...super light...like i can't even use a tampon because it's not heavy enough.  i could probably even get away with a liner.  I'm not sure if it's the pill i'm on, or if my body is just still sorting itself out.

  • I have always had weird periods, but my PP ones have been super heavy and many small clots. I don't know it BFing has to do with it, but I hate it!
  • Mine has been super heavy as well.  Lots of clots and cramping.  Before TTC, I was on BC for almost 15 years, so I forgot what a normal period was like.

  • I've only had 1 so far (next one should be right around the corner), and it was super light.  I'm still BF 50% of the time, and on a mini pill if any of that makes a difference.
  • Before I had DS, my periods were all over the place with timing and I was always extremely crampy, heavy flow and it lasted about a week.  I'm on PP period #2 now and I don't need to take any Advil for it, the flow isn't all that heavy and it lasted 4 days from start to finish.

  • Mine are terrible. The worst they've ever been. I'm starting a new BC next cycle to see if I can get some relief. Not to mention I have the worst acne I've ever had in my life. Fun times.

  • After my first child my period returned at 10 weeks.  The first 2 were light, but then they got fairly heavy, which was normal for me.

    This time, no AF yet.

That sounds really heavy though.  Do you have any kind of nurses hot line that you can call.  We have one where I live, and that's probably what I would do.

  • I?ve always had heavy and long periods but PP it got even heavier. My first PP period I was kind of shocked how much blood was coming. I asked my mom about it and she said it was the same after she had my siblings.

  • I've only had one (a couple of weeks ago), and it was super light.  I had a fairly heavy period pre-pregnancy, but I could've only used pantyliners and been totally fine for all 4-5 days.  No cramping whatsoever.  I'm BFing though, so that might have something to do with it.

  • My first couple were kinda light and then it started to pick up from there. It's usually heavy for the first 2 days and then tapers off. The problem I'm having though is that-and I'm sorry for the TMI-but tampons don't fit right anymore....so that sucks. I don't know if that's normal or not-but it never had even crossed my mind that that would be a problem. Maybe it's just me.
