Trouble leaving the house

It seems like everytime I take LO out of the house the rest of the day is a disaster. I don't know if he gets overstimulated or the change in our routine throws him off. I have tried different times of the day, short errands and long day trips. He catnaps in the car if it is moving but wakes up when we stop.

When we get home, for the rest of the day, he is so fussy and won't nap and hardly eats. I have tried running to the store for 20 minutes between eating and naps. I even tried completely covering the stroller with the weather shield and it didn't help. I would love to use the gym daycare but it doesn't seem worth the stress on either one of us. Anyone else in the same stuck at home or have a fussy baby boat?

  • I don't have any suggestions...it's the same for us, too!  DS is 9 weeks....maybe it's an age thing and will get better?  I'll be watching this thread...

  • DS was a fuss bucket until he was like 6 months old.  Didn't want to sit in the stroller, in the car seat, through our Little Gym class etc... You name it, he threw a fit after about 30 minutes.

Just keep doing what you're doing and get out.  It will make you feel better and he'll get used to it.  Once he gets more active and aware of his surroundings he'll love going out and seeing the world.

Thank you for your help! I think I just have one fussy little guy sometimes. Glad to hear that it should pass though.

  • For the past week, my LO has been the same way. I'm hoping it's just a phase that he will grow out of quickly. Right now, leaving the house is more effort than it's worth. I just ordered a carrier on Amazon and I'm hoping that will help...
