Help me remember... a weaning?

OK, well I guess Sophie really is weaning, ready or not. I just went almost 48 hrs w/o nursing and was totally comfortable so at least that's a good thing. But I have been having some crazy hot flashes all week. I can't remember if I had this when I was weaning Gavin so I'm wondering if this is related to weaning? It kind of makes sense I guess... I had CRAZY chills when my milk was coming in so this is just the opposite? Then again, I've also got AF right now so maybe it's related to that? Or my thyroid levels have been off so it could be that? Damn, I'm a hormonal mess at the moment. Anyway, just hoping someone could refresh my memory on the weaning fun?

Sorry to hear about your hot flashes. I am weaning right now but have not had any hot flashes but I did not have them with DD#1 either. I slowly weaning (drop 1 nursing session a week) so perhaps that's the key??

Oh no, this has been a super slow weaning. She's always been combo fed and we've been slowly dropping feedings for almost 2 mos now. It definitely hasn't been a sudden drop in hormones that is causing it. I do remember feeling extra hormotional after I weaned Gavin. But I don't remember exactly what I was feeling. Stupid mama brain.
