Hey!
Just wanted to follow up with you from yesterday's post. Have you tried completely blacking out A's room? I did this with R yesterday after his morning nap and his late afternoon nap he slept for 2.5 hours! I don't know if he was just super tired from the lack of sleep, but he was out.
I did all his naps in his crib again today (with the black out room) and he slept for 1.5 hours for his am nap and he is going on another 1.5 hours for his second nap of the day. I didn't think it was possible, but it's working!!!!!!
Maybe try doing that and see if that helps???

yay for good sleep!
the only thing I want to say is that right before I considered getting black out shades myself, I read on another board about how you should try to get your child to be able to sleep w/o them b/c if they get used to that then you are stuck trying to figure out solutions whenever you travel to the grandparents' house, hotels, etc. and that can be a pain. i remember reading how one mom carried around a roll of aluminum foil when they traveled so she can make DIY black out shades in the hotel LOL and how she hated always having to worr about there being complete darkness for her child to sleep
if you get them used to sleeping w/o it being completely dark then in the long run it will be easier for you. for the first part of Miss A's life we had the blinds totally shut (and some light would creep through but not much) and after I read that I started trying leaving them open during naps and she adjusted to it. my fear was she'd wake at sunrise every morning due to that but she (thankfully) does not. when she was younger she would but i think that is more b/c she was little and would wake up hungry...now that she is older her wake up time has slowly gotten later and later (yay!). this became esp useful once we could no longer physically close the blinds even if we wanted to b/c I decided to mount the camera for the video monitor on one of the shutters to avoid mounting anything on the wall.
so anyway, i know some parents swear by blacking out the room but just wanted to share my own experience

Hey! Things are... sort of the same. I think Friday was a fluke, though. He slept for 2 45-min naps with a little fussing in between. Then he slept for 2.5 hours and again for another 2.5 later in the afternoon!
But today is a whole 'nother story
We do have blackout curtains in his room, but it's still pretty lit in there. I had tried making it a little darker before, but it didn't really help him
Ironically, around dinner time yesterday, we were at my SIL's apt for BIL's bday party and he slept with all lights on and the noise around him for almost 2 hours. What gives little man?!
I'm glad naps are getting better for you! Let's hope these aren't flukes
This is funny that you bring this up because I have been thinking about this same situation! I think I will start opening the shades gradually after a little bit because I'm so desperate right now for him to nap in his crib
Once he finally gets the hang of it I know I need to get him used to sleeping during the daylight.
Why do these babies NOT sleep when they know darn well they are SO tired?!
