I said other because... I did not and will not have an NT scan BUT i know that my insurance would have covered it. However, i have already met my deductible for the year so I am not sure if it would have been 100% or if I would have had to pay 20%. Sorry for the confusing answer....
I didn't think my insurance would cover it, but the doctor said if we were interested she would work on getting authorization for it to be covered. Within an hour, she had an appointment set for me to get one. I am not sure what she had to do to get it "authorized" though.

Yes, they cover it. Based on our insurance we need to pay 20% on all tests and lab work, so yeah....that we need to pay when we get the bill. There are like 5 or 6 different codes that I gave them, and they said, yes it's covered. I met the deductible this year, but I still have coinsurance to max out before they will cover 100%.
My insurance covers diagnostic tests 100%, and I guess the NT scan counts as that. I haven't had it yet, but I asked last week if it would be covered, and the receptionist said yes (they see a lot of patients with my insurance).
Thank you for ALL the info, ladies. I'm going to keep harassing my insurance company until I get some answers. THANK YOU!
See if your doctor will provide you with the insurance codes. That way you can tell them the codes and get a more direct response. When I called to see if they'd cover "First Tri Screening" their response was vague.
Reading this board makes me so thankful for the insurance I have. I wish I could share it with everyone! Pregnancy is covered at 100%. The only thing I had to pay is one $20 copay for my first appointment because they don't consider that to be prenatal care (doctor hadn't confirmed pregnancy yet). My midwife and birthing center are covered the same as a doctor and hospital.

I've met my deductible for the year ($100), so I am responsible for 10% of total bill if we decide to have it. Will know for sure next week.
