On Friday my DH, sister, and BIL went to the fair (I love the fair!!) All I could think about during the week was getting a hand dipped, batter-covered corn dog smothered in mustard. I know hot dogs are on the no-no list (uncooked), but I figured ONE that was deep fried would be OK.
It was the best dang corn dog I'd ever had! Later in the evening I even had a cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting and nuts. OMG!!! ![]()
Anyone else gone crazy over fair food??
Re: I was so bad and it felt so good!
Candied apple. They are only good at a fair.
Oh how I want one right now!
What is an elephant ear? I've never heard of this!
This. This. And this.
Ah, a corn dog sounds amazing right now! I love it dipped in mustard too.
I was at an event last night with lots of fair food. I was thisclose to having a funnel cake but decided not to... because I had just had a cheeseburger and nachos.
I was shocked to find out I've only gained 1lb so far at my appointment last week. LOL
You've never had an elephant ear before?!?! They are amazing! You definitely need to try one. Here's a recpie for one (I've never made them so I don't know how this compares to one you'd get at a fair) https://allrecipes.com/Recipe/elephant-ears-2/detail.aspx
Never heard of one...I'm on the West coast, so I don't know if that matters? I looked at the recipe.....Oh geez, sugary/cinnamony deep fried bready....that definitely sounds like something I'd like!
Hmm maybe they're not popular over there. They're at every fair, circus, carnival around here (MI). If you make it, enjoy! They are so good.
I basically was and now DH is at the store picking some up.
Elephant ear is a fried batter awesome cake with powdered sugar on top.
OMG corn dogs..... I want one so bad
I live in Texas and our fair starts September 30th. They have so many fried foods it's unbelievable. This year, they even have fried bubble gum. Yuck! However, last year I had the best fajita tacos ever and I have been dreaming about them. I can't wait until I go this year. I also love their candy apples and funnel cakes.
