DH has a helecopter lesson at the airport on Sunday morning, so we were going to come down for the day. I have no idea what, if anything, we should be aware of since the flood. Are there any roads closed I should know about? Is the zoo open? Anything else we should do besides the zoo or Discovery place? Any playgrounds or anyplace real close to the airport for me to take the kids for an hour?
Also, I have some kids clothes, books and toys I could donate to flood victums. Is there any place down there directly collecting donations???
TIA

I'm from Endicott, which is part of Binghamton. The roads are all basically open now except for some of the back roads, but that shouldn't really affect you. If you're going to the Tri-cities airport, that is literally ACROSS the street from me, so you will have absolutely no problem getting there. If you're going to Binghamton airport, I believe most roads around there are completely open and debris free as well.As far as donations, this link gives you a list of where you can donate and what they need. https://www.wicz.com/news2005/viewarticle.asp?a=20134
Thank you for thinking of my community in our time of need. I know many many many friends, family, and co workers that have lost an abundance of stuff, if not everything. Some have been condemned from entering their homes or ever moving back. It's a sad situation, but we are all very grateful to kind people like you who want to help!
