Inserts for pocket diapers

I hear a lot about the inserts for pocket diapers (I use a combo of Kawaii, Sunbaby, BG, and FB) and whatever inserts came with each diaper. We always use Kawaii for overnight with 2 inserts. My 8.5 month old is waking up pretty wet every morning. Any recommendations on what else to try inside the pocket? I'm not sure what the difference is between microfiber, hemp, etc...or what works best for what situation.

Can anyone shed some light on what are some options for inserts and why one type is better than another?

Microfiber is what your pockets came with. Hemp can be placed under microfiber for extra absorption. I use hemp at night (in my fitted diapers). Bamboo is another option. It is more absorbant than microfiber, like hemp. Bamboo and hemp are much thinner than microfiber, making them a popular choice. Zorb is another option, but I have not experience with it.

We are using Thirsties prefolds and AFFF inserts in our OS BG 4.0 diapers and loving them. I picked up the BGs on seconds sale because I wanted to skip the MF inserts completley (we have hard water here and after reading about MF stinkies I just didn't want to deal with it long term). Here is a great article about natural fibers and here is the CD board spreadsheet shows what some other people here have found success with. HTH!!
