Party time preference

For the past 4 years, we have been doing lunchtime parties for my DD.  But this year, I was thinking of doing a brunch.  In part, just to 'mix things up' but also because I thought breakfast food would be easier/more people could enjoy (we have a lot of picky eaters/vegetarians/etc).  What do you think?  This is a family party so it only has about 4 kids coming (ages 2+) and then the rest are adults (about 15-20people total).

10-12:30am - I figured the kids would be less tired, less grouchy, etc
Food like muffins, bagels, pastries, juice, hot tea, coffee, and I would do something like baked cream cheese french toast.

or - my usual 11-2:30
Usually I do tons of apps (cheeses, dips, fruits, veggies etc) and something like a pasta and salad, sodas/etc.  Although this year maybe just do pizza and salad?

I'm just wondering if people want to "get the party out of the way" 10am on a Saturday (so then they can salvage the rest of the day) or if they would be dragging themselves out of bed.  Thanks!

Re: Party time preference

  • I would have loved to do a Saturday brunch party for dd, but dh works saturdays.  I think it still allows people to enjoy the rest of the day and weekend.  Also, it works out good for kiddos who still nap.  Bc of DH's work, we did it at 11am which was as early as we thought we could on Sunday that still allowed for people who had church plans to go.

    So I vote Sat morning!
