Aloe vera instead of gel for doppler?

in Pregnant after a Loss

Ordered my doppler today, but wondering if I need the gel as well. I read somewhere that aloe vera works in the same way and it much cheaper. Anyone hear this or have other suggestions?

Definitely not planning on even trying until 10 weeks but I'm just too excited :)

    I have definitely used hair gel in the past with no issues

    I've used aloe vera and lotion before, and both work fine. Don't waste your money on the gel.

    I use hand sanitizer...my OB uses it too when I'm in his office.

    I tried that when I ran out, and it did work, but the sound quality was not as good as it seemed before.  I got a huge bottle of gel on ebay for like $8.

    KY works great. Basically anything water based is fine. Although don't use anything with oil as it will ruin it.

     I  always though the Dr used KY....  that's what I'd use!

    I use Aloe Vera gel and it has worked perfectly for me.
