thank you ladies for all your well wishes and T+Ps. I'm handling the news a little better now that I have had time to process it, but still a mess.
My ob office called and got my genetic scan moved up from 20 weeks to next Thursday so I only have to wait another week to get some more information. These results were from the second part of my sequential scan and the u/s and first round of blood work came back completely normal.
After next weeks results we will see where we go from there. If the u/s results look good I think my odds go down to 1 in 3000 or something. I know even with 1/75 the odds are still in my favor, but I will feel much better if they were even lower.
I will most likely see a genetic counseler but I'm pretty sure I'm going to refuse to do the amnio so I don't know how much they will be able to tell me. I didn't update about this before but a couple weeks ago I developed a staph infection on a small part of my very large surgical incision across my abdomen. I was on antiobiotics for over two weeks and it is finally better. They are worried about this maybe causing contamination with the amnio, besides the fact that I have many abdomenal adhesions from my surgeries.
Ugg, I feel so numb right now and have a huge headache. I'm just trying to finish up some stuff at work so I can go home and sleep. And to top it all off, while I was lecturing this morning the fire alarm went off causing us to evacuate in the rain. I had to dismiss the class early and now I have to delay my exam I was supposed to give next class. Grrr, i didn't know whether to laugh or cry when the alarm starting going off.
~Lauren~
