Rolling over

Is it insanely odd that my daughter has been rolling from her tummy to her back for the past week?  I keep thinking they're flukes but when I put her back on her belly she does it again and again and again.  Anyone else?

Re: Rolling over

  • Brooklyn has been doing the same thing for the past couple weeks. Last night she rolled over 3x in a row! (I'm not proud or anything ;))

  • Also, I'm pretty confident she learned to roll over quickly because she absolutely hates tummy time on th floor. Lol!

  • Hadley has been doing this since she was 2 weeks old! I do think it's early for this, my first daughter didn't roll that soon.
  • My DS is doing it also for about a week and a half!  I couldn't believe it either, but he'll do it 2-3 times in a row...and I'm not the only one who has seen it, so I know I'm not going crazy!  You never know nowadays with the lack of sleep...haha!

  • Hallie has rolled from her back to her belly several times...it is super early for that, but all babies develop at their own rate and decide what they want to do first! :) My brothers twins were still in the NICU when she first did it at 4 weeks and their physical therapist argued with my brother saying it "wasn't possible" and that she would roll from her belly to her back first.  Needless to say, she has done it several times since then.

  • I'm curious if you (or any of the other responders) are swaddling, still? I'm wondering if swaddling my LO for naps would delay her attempts to roll over!
  • Hallie just rolled from her belly to her back today! I guess talking about it got her going, so now she has rolled from front to back and back to front! :) I am one proud mommy! And to the previous poster, about swaddling: I swaddle at bedtime only...I have never swaddled for naptime.  She does naps in her crib and I allow her to sleep on her tummy since I am up and checking on her constantly.  It was after her morning nap when she was just playing in the crib that she rolled over this morning. She has already done it one time since then as well! :) At night she is swaddled and on her back in the newborn napper on our pack 'n play....there is no rolling going on in there, which makes me much more comfortable when I am sleeping!
