I'm inpatient--woven wraps

Hi,

I want to buy a woven wrap today.  I don't want to wait lol.  Anyone know of where I can get one in the NYC/Long Island area?  TIA!  (Preferably not Manhattan as it is a PITA to get there from where I live because the trains are SOOO messed up!)

  • Haven't tried it myself, but I hear that 100" table cloths can be used as wraps. Or, you can buy 5-6 yards of osnaburg at a fabric store.

  • Ok I never thought about DIY.  Is that kind of fabric the only kind you can use?  Is it hard to find, or do they have it at most fabric stores?  Do you have to do anything to it before using it as a wrap?  I'm really not crafty at all.  Also, I just realized that I spelled impatient wrong.  Lack of sleep.

  • https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/58318466.aspx This thread has some repsonses about DIY wraps. thebabywearer.com also has some awesome info on DIY, fabric choices, etc. I made an onasaburg wrap for a friend, and just tapered the ends and hemmed all the edges using different colored thread to tell the "top" rail from the "bottom" rail. I think I've read that you don't have to hem it, but I'm pretty sure it would fray some. This link talks about quick no-sew wraps... https://wearyourbaby.com/Default.aspx?tabid=121 Hope you find a wrap soon!

  • You seem a little impatient as well, ha-yuck!...

Hah, but really, I would check out Osnaburg Wrap Fabric as an easy DIY wrap.
