Hey ladies, it's been ages!!!!! My head has been spinning but I think I'm finally able to relax and get caught up.
Some of you might remember that we planned to move cross country late pregnancy to be home around family in time for delivery and I am so happy to report that the timing could not have been more perfect. Our jobs transferred us, we bought a beautiful house in a great neighbourhood where we grew up just in time for when we got here and we are all settled in now. Moving while 33-35 weeks pregnant was somewhat exhausting but G has shouldered the burden of the move and we're mostly all unpacked and put away. Pictures are up and the nursery is really coming together now, just need to add some wall decals that are on order and buy some last minute things and we're basically ready for this little one anytime!
It's so nice to be around family and our old friends again, I've been feeling very grateful for everything. We had 2 amazing showers last weekend and this little girl is already one spoiled princess!! At my family/close friends shower my sister gave me some amazing gifts, but also had found my old doll that I had when I was a little girl including the wooden cradle that my grandpa built for her. She brushed out her very long hair and took her to the build a bear store to buy her a new outfit and gave her back to me all shined up and ready for my little one. My cousin also bought me a book called "You're finally here" and the pages are all about this mouse hopping around shouting "YOU'RE HERE! What took you so long?!" Needless to say, I was "ugly" crying for a good chunk of my shower!
We went to the store today and purchased all the remaining things on our registry and it totally struck me that this is happening, a baby is really coming and she's going to be all mine. We had a saleslady at this boutique shop walking around with us gathering up everything else we needed and when she found out that it had taken us 5 years to get to this point, she got all teary, I got all teary and it was a very emotional shopping trip. Needless to say, we got 10% off our entire order, so sweet!
I'm sorry I've been so absent while all of this is going on! I promise to be on here more, especially as work starts to unwind and now that things are starting to return to a normal pace. Off to check up on everyone!!
