Hello ladies,
I am new to the board and thought I would introduce myself. I am going to be 25 weeks on Sunday and I have a really rare condition known as Vasa Previa. I was put in the hospital a week ago Tuesday and am about to go mad. My husband and I live in North Carolina and love it here. I will be here until the beginning of December...they want to do my c-section at 35 weeks because of the Vasa Previa. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to stay sane on bed rest?
Re: hospital bed rest
I have been on hospital bedrest for 7 weeks already and I keep busy by doing puzzles - crosswords, sudoku, etc, I have also been reading both books and on-line. I also have been coloring and reading magazines. The computer definitely does help make it more bearable to be here.
Good luck to you and just think your little ones have lots of time to grow.
Sorry your on bed rest, hope things get better.
Lots of magazines, books, movies, internet surfing, tv. Im sure everyone is annoyed by me bacause i text everyone like crazy. I was supposed to start a scrapbook but that never happened.
and after 82 days in the NICU, our little girl is home!
While I am not happy any of you are on hospital bed rest, I am glad to hear I am not the only one. I am 32 weeks and have been here for 4 weeks. Hopefully I can hold out another 4 before I deliver. I have placenta previa, which drove me here to the hospital.
Do you work? If so, can it be done remotely? I pass the time by working during the week I can do my job remotely and the conference calls with clients have been a blessing. Cross stitching also helps.
I had Vasa Previa too and lived in NC during the pregnancy. (We just moved).
It's good to see that you've got really cautious doctors. I guess luckily I was only in the hospital for a month prior to my c-section but I did worry a lot in the time before while I was at home. We did live close to the hospital though.
I watched a lot of netflix, knitted, read and played video games and surfed the web (pinterest would have been awesome back then...sigh). I also took a ton of naps and found that I had a hard time concentrating on doing much.
I also wanted to say that it was very scary all the waiting but we have a wonderful little boy that is almost 2! This time will be so worth it and will be such a distant memory for you though it seems so long right now. Good luck to you! If you'd like, you can email me at asliceofawesome at gmail dot com.
