Does anyone give LO a bath every night?

Re: Does anyone give LO a bath every night?

  • No. We do not bathe our babies every night.

  • I do. It's just a quick bath after he eats because he gets super messy. Then sometimes I'll let him play in the water for a little bit.

  • Over the last week I've been taking a shower or bath nightly with lo to help with his stuffy nose. But I didn't soap him up every night since he doesnt really get dirty. And soapy babies are slippery babies!! lol.

But when he's not sick, no we don't give him a bath every night unless he some how gets dirty or has food everywhere!

  • She atleast gets a quick shower or rinse off in the sink after dinner.  I only soap her up every other day though.

  • DD got a bath every night because she wore a helmet and then it just became part of her bedtime routine.  DS gets one every other night.

  • Every other night here. I started giving him and my DD a bath together. It's just me here during the week bc H works till 2 am so I gotta do what works for me. They both LOVE bath time.

I always wash him with a washcloth and put lotion on him before bed on nights he doesn't get a bath.

  • I usually do. She gets kinda dirty from DC. Not dirty.. But ya know, scooting all over the place, drool, formula, food... And while they do a good job keeping her clean, I like her to be my kinda clean.

Plus, at bedtime, a bath is like a sleeping pill to her. She gets in there, splashes for a few, then the eye rubbing starts.

  • Yep. DS has a ton of hair and it tends to get oily if it's not washed every day.
  • No but bathing two babies everyday sucks. We usually go every other day. Plus, James has eczema and bathing all the time makes it worse.

  • Yes I do. I just like to get her clean after being at my MIL all day. Often her cousins are there, so they play with her. She held by my husbands grandma and aunt. I just like to get all germs of the day off of her before she goes to bed.

  • Every other day he will get a bath UNLESS he made a mess of himself at dinner.  :)

  • We have since we came home from the hospital. Her night/day was so out of whack it helped us get her sleeping at night.

  • Yes, and has since he was 7 weeks old. He goes to DC and I like to de-germ him nightly.

  • Yes b/c whe she eats she loves to put anything she's got on her hands and run in thru her hair and she's got just enough hair to make it super gross if I don't wash it every night. Plus, I love the way she smells right after she gets out of the bath!

  • We do. DS sleeps better when he gets a bath, so it's part of his routine.

  • Yes, because C has eczema and the dermatologist said we should. Since we starting washing him daily with Cetaphil cleanser, his eczema patches are almost nonexistant. We've made it a part of his bedtime routine. He gets his bath, then we rub him down with lotion, put on his diaper and pj's and give him his bottle. Then it's a few minutes of snuggles and off to bed :)

  • p does get a bath every night but we only started to do that around 3mns old. i was getting frustrated that i couldn't get him on a routine or a schedule & my awesome sister-in-law suggested a bath every night which is what she did w/ her kids. it was kind of the clue that you're winding down the night, they'll get dressed, fed, & put to bed. now we can't give him a bath w/out him rubbing his eyes & yawning when he's done playing in there. it totally worked for us so we've just kept it up. plus i'm a sahm & dh works so he likes to come home & help w/ the bath & last feeding of the day just to get his daddy time in each day.

plus, now i think he needs one every day anyway, he's all over the floor, he likes to store food in all his chin roles, he's constantly drooling, & my dog can't go 5 minutes w/out licking him.

  • We bathe twice a week and just use a washcloth to wipe them off after meals.

  • Yup, it's part of our bedtime routine, but we only use soap every 2 or 3 days unless he rubs his dinner in his hair or has a massively gross diaper day.  Thankfully, DS loves bathtime.

  • We do. It's just become part of the routine. Plus, I always seem to find some kind of food on him that I missed after he eats his dinner.

  • Yes, I do.  I started around 3 months (before that it was every other night or so) b/c she was a crappy sleeper and I wanted to try and develop some kind of nighttime routine.  It's stuck (she's now a great sleeper although I'm sure it has very little to do with her bath) and so I bathe my two girls together every night (pretty much; sometimes we skip it if we're out late and I don't want her to go to bed too late).

  • Yes I do.  She gets a bath every night and we play with her bath toys.  She LOVES bath time.  She has actually gotten a bath every night since she was like 1 month old.  She has always enjoyed it and would laugh and splash.  Only time she may miss a night time bath is if she was already asleep beofre bath time came around.  We also give her a quick bath in the morning too before daycare.  I know alot of people would frown upon that b/c they say that you will dry out the babies skin but not one day has DD's skin been dry.  I just cannot send a pissy smelling baby to daycare.  My SIL only bathed her DD like every couple days.  Sorry not me.  I get a shower/bath 2 times a day so I knew that it was going to be the same way when DD arrived.

  • Yes. It's part of his bedtime routine.

We started soaping every day when it got hot and he started sweating. We apply lotion also right before bedtime.

  • Yep, every night unless something causes us to be out at that time.  DH has been doing it as part of his night routine since about 2.5 months.  I love it because it gives me a few minutes alone and both DH and DS love it!
