I had 8 follicles this cycle and was certain I was going to be canceled. I started ovulating on my own, though, when the biggest one was only 16mm and the next was 15mm. The rest were 12-14. My nurse called and told me to take my trigger shot right then and convert the IUI into TI--in fact, I called DH, and he came home for an afternoon delight before going back up to work!
Part of me is still afraid my RE made a mistake and I'll end up with twins or triplets. This would not be good for me at all--worse for me than most women, because I have a muscle disorder that makes my ligaments so tight that my abdominal muscles separated with my FIRST child, a singleton whom I didn't even carry to term. I am afraid that my body just could not handle twins or more.
Most of me, though, is pretty sure the cycle is already a bust, with how tiny the largest eggs were. And even if I get pregnant, my chances of making it out of the first trimester are not so great.
So, if you had an IUI/TI, how many follicles did you have, and how many babies did that turn into?

Re: Question for IUI/TI women--singletons vs. multiples
I had 3 mature follicles. 36 hours before my IUI, they measured 19, 21 and 21, if I recall correctly. I am currently pregnant with a singleton.
Good luck!
TTC Since April 2010
Dx: Hypothyroid, High FSH, Low progesterone, Blocked left tube
BFP 5-2-11; m/c 5-9-11
July 2011: 50 mg Clomid + Ovidrel + IUI #1 (7/13) + Progesterone = BFP!!
EDD: 4/04/12
I had two mature follies for IUI #3, which we actually did after I had ovulated that morning. One more must have caught up, and we were originally pregnant with triplets. We lost baby C at 7 weeks, and I am pregnant with twins.
We had only used Clomid-my RE said she hadn't had Clomid triplets in 10 years until us, and apologized.
I dont remember the sizes of mine now... this was iui #5 with b2b iuis and had 3 follies and was pg with triplets. We actually saw all 3 heartbeats but lost one at 8 weeks and have twins now.
The cycle before I also had 3 follies with b2b iui's and it was a c/p
good luck!

I had a 21.5 and 20 and then a bunch of 14s and 11s. We did IUI and are pg with a singleton.
With our previous TI cycles we had between 3 & 4 follicles between 17 & 20, none of those ever resulted in bfps.
FWIW - MFI was not a factor in our IF.

Thanks, everybody! It's very questionable whether the MF has anything to do with our difficulties, at count and motility are good and morph is marginal. We seem to be getting the eggs fertilized just fine now that I'm cycling regularly--they just aren't sticking. I'm getting implantation cramping (spotting, even, once!). and incredibly brief positive HPT, and then right back to negative.
I am reassured by your responses r.e. multiples, though. I'm not fertile enough to have 2 eggs make 2 babies. :-) They just wouldn't both make it. First month, I had 1 great follicle, 1 good, 1 small. Second, I had 2 great, 1 good, 1 small. This time, 2 good...if I had ovulated a day later, 6 small. So I'm afraid I'm pretty sure this cycle's a bust.
