Diarrhea?

Day care called and said Charlotte has had 3 diarrhea diapers today. They did say that she seems perfectly happy. So now I'm trying to figure out what is causing it. 

- Had 4 month appt and shots on Tuesday

- Started cereal on Tuesday

Could either the shots or cereal be doing it? My mom said maybe she is teething.

I called the pedi but haven't heard back. What can I do for her? Do I just keep an eye on it? Take her off cereal? Thoughts?

    My little lady had diarrhea a week or so ago, then she ended up vomiting.  Watch out for the flu bug, that is what she came down with.  Make sure to keep her hydrated, we had to give strictly pedialyte every 15minutes for about 8 hours then if she could keep that down we had to use Soy formula because milk based dehydrates you.  Just a heads up.  Hope she feels better soon!

    So is it safe to give them pedialyte at 4 months old? That was a question for my pedi if they ever call back!

    DD got a bug which caused diarrhea a few weeks ago.  The pediatrician recommended switching her to soy temporarily to help constipate her and giving her pedialyte to keep her hydrated.  She was just shy of 4 months at the time.  Talk to your pediatrician to be sure, but mine said it was ok.

    LO had diarrhea for 13 days straight about a month ago.  We went to the pediatrician's office three times and had bloodwork too.  Bloodwork indicated it was a virus and there was never any blood in his stool or any fever.  They didn't change his formula, even though I was tempted to do so on my own.  One day it  just went away. 

    Hopefully, your little one is just teething or has a tiny stomach bug that will come and go very quickly.  Yes, Pedialyte is safe at this age.  Some don't recommend it, because of the excess sugar which can lead to more diarrhea.  We used it some.  LO liked the orange flavor.

    LO has had diarrhea since Sunday due to medication from his ear infection meds. The doctor said to try cereal and it has lessened the frequency and runniness of the bm's.

    The pedalyte is fine, I had to give it to DS when he was 2 weeks old.


    His three plus my one; we are all excited to welcome a little one!
