Mom's of toddlers!

Does your kid shriek? Like happy shrieking? If so, when does it end?

My eardrums can't handle it!!!

  • Yes and yes...my eardrums hurt.

  • Yes, but only when he's around other kids and playing.  Or if he's REALLY mad.  Which is pretty much daily right now.

I'm still recovering from having a play date Sunday with four little boys under age 5.  I swear the neighbors could hear us.

  • Yes.  It doesn't.  I just lay down the law about inside voices versus outside.  No shrieking in the house.

  • Yes, my 21 month old does this!  Especially when she's around people's pets - she gets really excited!
  • Thanks for the input, ladies! I'm glad I'm not alone.

And Mom's possessive? Sheesh! I know it's Moms Embarrassed

  • Ellie was big on shrieking for joy for a while but she mostly outgrew it around the time she turned 3 - now she just screams bloody murder when she's mad or frustrated.  Noah has started doing it too already, although in his case he just likes to hear his own voice, lol.

  • DS really wasn't a shrieker, but DD has made up for it in big way! I think they stop shrieking about the same time they stop talking to you, in their teens. Sorry!

  • Yes he still does and makes me crazy.  I just continue to correct him...I expect that it will stop eventually.

  • Margaux usually isn't, though she broke her silence and then some when we went for Thai last week.  Oh, man.  SO embarrassed.
