  • We have a plastic Step2 table. It's beige with maroon trim and I got it on amazon for $45.

  • thx for the rec. do they eat and draw/color/play on it?  would love to forgoe highchairs, but not sure if they're too young to understand the stay at the table while you eat concept....

  • We use ours (step 2, i think) to eat lunch outside.  They kind of get the stay in your seat thing, but I am constantly on them, so it gets exhausting.  We got it at a yard sale up the street, and now I'm looking for a picnic table w/ attached benches.  I may be wrong, but I'm thinking they might stay seated better at a picnic table.

  • we have a table & chair set from ikea and dd loves it.  we used a different one when she was younger, but she sat at it around 18 months easily --especially if one of us was also sitting there.  perhaps the difference was that she was the only kid and she was in daycare where she had some experience of sitting at tables in a social setting already.

They have snacks and milk at it, and love sitting at it. We are still working on meals because although they know they should stay seated, they like to play games and dump their plates in the trash can. Sigh.

  • We also have the IKEA one.  I really like it because crayons and food wipe right off.  It's cheap, but sturdy.  Easy to put together.  It will definitely last them a few years.

  • We have PBK first table and chairs and enjoyed it with Emerson.  It is very much a first table and chairs-won't last long because it's so small.

We also have two of the Land of Nod craft tables with the paper roll at one end and a smaller table.  It's quality is far superior to the PBK.  I also like the fact that the legs can come off and you can purchase the longer legs to make it a full size desk when they get older.  It also matches our furniture really well.  So, my vote goes to the Land of Nod tables.

Thanks for posting the link.  I need something for them soon.  I like the price.  :)  I want plastic like the Step 2, but I think this table would take suction cup toys well... our PT told me to set up a table for them to play with toys off of the floor.
