Tonight a NASA satellite is falling just in our region.. thank you guys! lol
no seriouslly, they are saying the first pieces will start to arrive around 9pm (is 7pm now) but that the critical phase will be around 3.30 and 4.15am and are instructing people to sleep near the doors, away from external walls and are asking people who leave in tall buildings to spend the night somewhere else
hopefully all the pieces will disintegrate or get small enough so it won't cause any damages.
Re: xp - One of your satellites is falling over us
Whoa, cosmic litter! Oh well, at least it's not a SiriusXM satellite. Yep, I have priorities.
Seriously, though, stay safe!
no seriously,
"As rumors of potential crash sites lit up the Internet, Italy took the unusual step of warning residents to stay indoors late Friday to avoid a 1.5 percent risk of the six-ton satellite hitting the northern part of the country.
The latest NASA data showed the Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite (UARS) was slowing down and changing its path so that a US landing could no longer be ruled out. On Thursday, the US space agency has said North America was out of range."

yup, they just did an update here in the evening news that is not the whole north of italy, just the friuli and the veneto states.. I live in friuli, yay!
the anchorman also said that the possibility that a person gets hit is pretty much close to zero "but is always more than zero!" so that people should stay inside anyways.. the "" part actually made me laugh
That is nuts. I hate all this space junk that we as people have left up there. Pretty soon we will wind up having rings like Saturn from all that crap. Stay safe, hope it hits someplace unpopulated.
"We like nothing better than buffing our Zygoma. And imagining a horny time traveling long overcoat purple scarf wearing super sleuth nordic legend fuck fantasy. Get to work on that, internet." Benedict Cumberbatch

yes they will, they said in the news that if any one suffers any material or personal damage they should go to the regional council that has the paperwork from the NASA to ask for compensation
