I go on Tuesday for my 36 week appt and I'm scheduled to have the GBS screening. For you ladies who have already been tested, did your DR also do an internal while you were "bottomless"?
had mine today..it was nothing. I was scared about it because i had my first cervical check last week and it was AWFUL! Then I had another one today...UGH! It hurt so bad! I wonder if there is something wrong with me..the pain is not just "uncomfortable" as most people explain a cervical check.

I had the GBS yesterday and my doc asked if I wanted to be checked. I told her no. I'm 36 weeks and I figured that whatever the check revealed was not going to mean much at this point.
I did the swab myself, so no. Actually, still haven't had a cervical check (my OB only does it at 38+ weeks, and only if you want membranes swept, too, it seems).
I was scheduled to have my GBS test & first internal at 35.5 weeks. But when I got there, they were super backed up and the nurse said they'd changed my appointment to just a belly check. So I asked the dr. and she said next week we do the GBS & internal exams begin. I'll have an exam every week until delivery.
Yes. But she did ask if I wanted her to first. I am currently super paranoid of going early since my DH was a month early and the same size our LO is now.
No, my group doesn't start checks until 37 weeks and I decline them anyways. I have no desire to have hands up in there when that information doesn't tell you anything about when you'll go into labor.

Same for me. She left me alone to 'swab'. My midwife doesn't do an exam until you are in active labor or overdue to reduce the risk of infection.

Ditto!
