High-Risk Pregnancy

First High Risk Appointment

I have my first high risk appointment next week and I'm wondering what to expect? I've been the this doctor a few times but each time it was after a m/c so this will be my first "real" appointment. They have me scheduled with a nurse and the doc. Anyone give me an idea of what will happen? I'm high risk because of a blood clotting condition and multiple miscarriages if that helps...

Re: First High Risk Appointment

  • My first appointment with the perinatologist went very smoothly, although it wasn't till I was 13 weeks pregnant.  The nurse brought me into the room prepped me for an ultrasound and did all the preliminary questions.  Then the doctor came in for 10 quick meeetings of ultrasound, measurements were completed, the doctor asked a few questions, and then left.  Nurse said all looked good so far and had me schedule for 4 weeks later.  I am high risk due to high prolactin levels and a subchorionic hemorrhage that developed between 16 and 20 weeks.  I am now 28 weeks today and after seeing the high risk doctor again at 26 weeks, she said there looks to be no reason to see her again, WAHOO!  Here's hoping the rest of the pregnancy goes smooth.  FIngers crossed for you too.
