I noticed some trash talking about Bath&Body Works

I guess my UO will be that I love B&BW. Currently my favorite scent is "Sensual Amber." I just showered and used the body wash, then lotion and a spritz of body spray. Sounds kinda like overkill, but the scent isn't too strong after maybe 30mins to an hour. I also love using the foaming hand soap because my hands don't dry out like they do with regular soap or hand sanitizer.

ALSO right now they're selling the 3 wick candles for 2 for $20. I am definitely going back to get some this weekend. The Salty Caramel candle smelled ahhhh mazing and I just have to get it. I thought that they might be kind of overpriced, but then I saw Yankee candles at Target today (similar size and same price) that didn't smell half as good :)

  • I love BBW! I have many of the foaming soaps! They are our favorite.

  • I love BBW candles and hand soaps for sure, but can't justify the cost anymore. I wash my hands about 50 times a day maybe...I got through soap fast. So now I just make my own foaming hand soap using their bottles to be a cheapo.

  • eh, I don't think it's so amazing it's worth at least $10/bottle. But we live by an outlet so I buy the scents are that are on sale, I've never paid more than $2/bottle and I usually get the hand soap for $1.50.

I NEVER pay full price while I'm there. I shop their 6 for $20.  Not a bad deal at all!

  • Didn't see the trash talking but I'll add some.

I like several of their products - the aromatherpy line especially.

But holyjeez I can't go in that store anymore because the salespeople are VULTURES. They follow me around and bug the crap out of me. Same goes for our Hallmark.

  • Well, the girls were very friendly and pointed out the specials to me, and they were oohing and ahhing over DD, but I didn't think they overdid it. Then again, I was doped up on percoset from my surgery Friday, so that probably helped with them talking me into buying something when I originally was just browsing to pass time lol

Honestly, I don't think the prices are too bad. Especially when they do the buy 2 get 1 free, buy 3 get 2 free like they are now. I have been gifted the sets before and they last me ages. I don't normally shop for stuff there just because I am on a tight budget. But I earned a bonus this month, so I treated myself :)

  • I find that I only like the Fall and Halloween scents.  I just spent over $50.00 in there, because I love the caramel apple and the sweet cinnamon pumpkin.  I stocked up for the year.  The everyday scents don't smell as good, imo.

  • I agree about the salespeople but since I worked in retail for 6 years I am very good at being firm but polite and telling them that I will let them know if I need anything. I also hate their prices and only shop when they have good sales and/or I have good coupons. $2-3/bottle is what I usually pay. Althought during the last semi-annual sale I got a bunch for under $2 so I stocked up for a good long while.

How do you make your own?

  • Sensual Amber smells delish!!

We use there foaming soaps a bunch, always try and pick some up when they have their sales, it's a nice little "I need to find a gift to give" gift!

  • You might not think it's overkill, but if I was stuck on an elevator with you I wouldn't be able to breathe....if my brother was stuck on an elevator with you he would probably have an asthma attack.

I use one of the Bath and Body Works foaming soap bottles...but I think any hand foaming soap container would work. I add in an inch or so of soap, you can use regular hand soap, or unscented, or even hand friendly dish soap, into the bottle.  Then fill it most of the way up with water leaving room for the pump to fit back in. I added some soap scent drops I got from Joanns I had for another project to make it smell pretty like apples, but you don't have to add anything. Then just close it up tight and do some tipping upside down/right side up to get the soap and water mixed around. Voila - cheapass foaming hand  soap! =) Too much water and it will be runny, too much soap and it will be hard to rinse hands clean, but really easy to make.
