So I got a 138, and according to dr. google (the most reliable doctor ever, haa haa) a 140 is considered high, but some doctors place the "redo" level at 130 just in case. I am thinking I am just having a pity party over this, because I feel like a failure. Also, I would have liked a call instead of a letter in the mail, so I could have asked a real person these questions instead of sniffing around for myself. My doctor's office said they wouldc call if I needed more testing, but apparently that was not the case.
Anyone else borderline on their 1 hour test?
Re: dr. says I failed my 1 hr. glucose test, but....
My last pregnancy I failed my 1 hr. Mine was 140. I took the 3 hour and passed it with flying colors.
So failing the 1 hr isn't the end of the world but IMO it should be a realization that you need to cut back on the sugars or if you are like me the starches. GL on your next GTT.
Hope it is better.
With my last baby I failed the 1 hour and passed the 3 hour. Not passing the 1 hr is totally common.
Some office now only offer a 2 hr test and then have lowered their numbers in the threshold. So it is harder to pass.
Good luck...but I bet you pass the 3 hr with flying colors.
I failed with a whopping 171, I have to take my 3 hour on monday (it's the earliest I can take it). And I think it was high because I was being dumb and ate half a bagel before the test not thinking that starch was bad (but I was starving and it was all i had in the house!).
Over the past few days I've met a lot of people who've failed the 1 hour and passed the 3 hour with numbers all over the place. My good friend always fails the 1 hour, 3 hour and finally gets cleared after a 7 hour monitoring (and has with 3 different pg's). I'm just trying to eat balanced meals over the next few days before the test and hope for the best! It is what it is!
After an initial freakout, I know that everything will be fine if I do have GD or not.
130 is the typical cut off.
I failed my one hour with DS2 and DS3 by just a couple point and failed the 3hr. I passed the 1hr with DS1 by one point and ended up with undiagnosed GD.
