Are you painting your own nursery?

I'd like to paint mine, but I'm a bit nervous about the fumes and my SIL and dad offered to paint it for me...I still want to help though

if you can, make sure there is plenty of ventilation and even get some small fans to help blow the fumes out the room like outside a window. I want to help paint mine too but my husband, mom, and family friends have all teamed up on me and refuse to let me help Sad

If they still don't want you to do the major stuff, ask if maybe you can do later do your own trim-work at a later date (if you're painting a trim, etc.)

My DH painted on his day off while I was at work...I hate the smell of paint even not pregnant.

DH is painting the background with wall paint and then I'm doing a mural with acrylic paint (craft paint) so I'm painting part of it!

I'll wear a mask from now on and use a fan though

I really wanted to help paint..but my Dad painted it for me. He wouldn't even let DH help because he "didn't know what he was doing". My dad is a bit of a control freak lol but he did a great job!

DH & I painted the nursery together. It isn't a big room so it didn't take very long. We opened the windows in the room and had the ceiling fan going.

I painted it myself.. I'm a control freak that way and DH wouldn't want to do it anyways

I highly recommend the no VOC paint (we really like Freshaire from HD). It goes on really well and I didn't have any issue with the fumes.

Heck no! That's what DH is for

We are using low VOC, though, so I can pop in every now and then.

I actually painted the Nursery solo...but it was 22 months ago the week after I got laid off, ROFL.

I actually stained our deck the weekend after conception...but since then no painting. We finished our screened porch area and the baby's closet but I haven't participated - its not a necessity that I do. I just made food and did supply runs while others painted.

DH will be painting the nursey, because I stink at painting! I painted the guest room alone on my day off once and he had to come home and redo it because I missed spots and didn't even notice! So, he doesn't let me even try anymore....I'm cool with that!

Dh and I are going to paint it together. We're just going to open up both of the windows in there and if it smells too strong I'll leave the room. I really want to be a part preparing the nursery.

DH and I painted it together over labor day weekend. We had the window open and a fan going and it was fine. I have more patience with painting that DH does so I was the one up on the ladder cutting around the tops of the walls and the trim. I made sure to take a break outside the room every hour or two, drank lots of water and had snacks.
