What are your favorite hippie names? I love Clementine for a MN. I know it's been talked about a bit the last few days. What are other "Hipster" names you like?
I use to work with a woman whose given name was Sunshine. It fit, but it would've been awesome if she were a surly b!tchface.
OH! I love Juniper!
I have an Aunt named Sundee. I don't know where it came from. My grandma must have known someone named Sundee because she wouldn't have just made it up on her own. Sunshine made me think of that.
Haha! They weren't related, and Liberty was actually a pretty quiet conservative girl. Now Rainbow on the other hand, well she totally lived up to her name!
My brother and sil are huge hippies (like lived in a van and followed the grateful dead for years and worked for a tie-dye business lol) he had a son when he was 18, they named him Noah Kerian, but when they were going through names they originally wanted Leif for a boy or if he was a girl..wait for it..actually Im not even sure how to spell it but I will try..Himesikia (Pronounced Hime-sa-kai-a)..And fast forward 15yrs years he had a second son and named him Rowan and now they are having their 3rd son and are naming him Fin. It totally fits with their style
I love a lot of the less popular flower names, like Magnolia, Azalea, Zinnia. I have a friend who had a baby recently and named her Phoebe Magnolia, which I thought was awesome.
I also love January.
I wouldn't have the guts to use any of these, though...
I grew up with a girl named Rainbow, and another girl named Liberty Freedom.
I know a guy named Rainbow and a girl named Sunshine.
I too know a guy named Rainbow. He goes by "Bo".
I like Willow, Poppy, Juniper and Sage.
I have a friend from HS who named her children after trees - Cedar, Aspen and Willow.
ETA: and I LOVE January and Tuesday.

Juniper.

I don't know why, but I immediately thought of Ezra and Penelope.
Even though they're both really popular I can see the appeal in the "hipster" crowd.
Also Milo, Viggo, and Willow come to mind.
Did you grow up with the Phoenix family?
I can't think of anything I like, but my friend named her kids Coco (boy), Sunshine (girl) and Rainbow (girl). I also know some "Sky"s.
Proud mother of two breech babies:)
these all are names of people's kids that I know
Whisper (g)
Journey (2x- boy and girl)
Liberty (g)
I know a Whisper, Canyon, Liberty, and Willow
I personally do not consider a lot of the names listed here hippish. Clementine to me is an old lady name.
Ember - for obvious reasons
Willow, Fox, Meadow, Clover, Lilly, Poppy, Daisy, Asher. I personally
Hippie/Hipster names.
I was thinking the same thing...
Chandler 11/2000 ~ Bronwyn 6/2002 ~ Grayson 3/2010 ~ Matilda/Till 6/2012
BFP 10/20/11 ::sticky dust::
BFP 9/11/11 - m/c 9/25/11 5w5d
Haha too funny. I agree though - any of the Phoenix kids names would qualify. River, Leaf, Joaquin, etc.

Oooo... I LOVE Magnolia.
Hmm... Ruby Magnolia J or Evie Magnolia J.
I know a guy named Rainbow and a girl named Sunshine.
I had a waitress once named Story.
Maybe it was the same surly b!tchface I went to college with. Sunshine was a horror.
