A few people asked for more current info on dumping fecal matter out of disposable diapers in an earlier post (which I know most people don't do)- here it is, straight off of Pamper's own website:
"Waste removal
As the Pampers bag recommends, you'll want to dump bowel movements in the toilet. Then just roll the diaper into its backsheet, using the tape or fasteners to keep it closed, and dispose of it in the trash."
Not trashing anyone's choice to use disposables.
Re: Info on dumping disposable diapers
This is funny for me, due to a turnpike experience yesterday with our potty learning toddler... We took the potty chair just in case (since there are only 2 places to stop on this stretch of turnpike). DS just happened to need to poop out in the middle of nowhere- so we get it out and he does his thing. Then DH and I were like what do we do with it now! DH did dump it in the field
. Not long after we left the scene of the "crime" a cop passed us, and DH making fun of me said that we got caught!
For the record we CD'd DS (and will the next one), and dumping poop (in the potty) is really no big deal. Eventually you will get pooped on (peed on, threw up on, etc) so it becomes more normal than you think
And, if you go the route of using a little potty chair when you are training your LO, then you have to dump and clean it, too.
This was funny to me.
I wanted to add that as long as you breastfeed you don't have to dump CD. Poo is water salable. Just saying...
I'd never thought I'd be in that kind of situation, but the alternative was to try and find a bathroom when we got to our destination (we were on our way out of town). And, that would've been really weird, unless we found an outside bathroom somewhere.
Yes, the first 6 mo. we just threw them in the wash- super easy. But, you can definitely tell when they start solids (and have to dump/rinse out the poo). And, well now, I'm really, really glad he will poop in the potty because "holy moly" the kid can poop!
