Does my boy name sound funny?

DH and I settled on a boy's first name a long time ago, and I just recently added in the middle name, but I can't decide if it sounds strange to me or not.

The name would be Evan William Renaud. There's no rhyme or reason for Evan, it's just a name we both love, but William is DH's brother's name. My brother and his wife will be the god parents, and we wanted to honor DH's brother in some way. :)

If anyone's curious about our girl name choice, it's Erin.. but we have no ideas on a middle name yet.

Of course, this is all cart before horse, since we have no idea what we're having yet.. :)

    It sounds fine IMO.  Plus you very rarely use first and middle together anyways.  Go with what you love Smile

    I think your boy name sounds just fine!  It all goes and sounds like a strong name to me.  Maybe if it's a girl Erin's middle name should be your DH's brother's wife name?

    LOL, we don't really like my brother's wife, and her name is Angie :) Erin Angie... hmmm... haha

    ETA: Awww, I feel mean saying that we don't like her.. it's not that we don't like her.. she's just different...

    And don't feel bad about not liking your SIL I loath mine, I'm pretty sure she knows it too.

    Me too me too!  One is completely a nutcase wacked out B and the other is nice on her own but she's been a real B lately and we don't know wtf her deal is.  The good thing is though that even H doesn't like his family so I'm not forced to pretend!

    I love the name Evan! DH vetoed it right away though :( I think Evan William sounds good together, I don't see any problems. Plus, like another poster said, you don't say both names together very often. Our son is going to be Gavin Allen which doesn't sound great, but we both love Gavin and Allen is honoring DH's deceased father, which was waayyyy more important than picking a name that "flowed" better.

    I like Evan William! Sounds cute to me!

    My name is Erin and middle my name is Elizabeth. I always loved it and Elizabeth will be my daughters middle name as well :)

    You might want to consider the fact that Evan Williams is a brand of Bourban... kind of a JD knock-off sold near the bottom shelf at the liquor store.
